CHICAGO — One person died and nine others were wounded in shootings since Thursday afternoon, according to police.

A 23-year-old man was fatally shot in Chicago Lawn shortly after midnight Friday, police said.

• Most recently, a 36-year-old man was shot in Austin early Friday, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was on the sidewalk in the first block of South Mayfield Avenue at 1:10 a.m. when he heard shots and felt pain, Estrada said. He was struck in his abdomen and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, he said.

• A 19-year-old man was shot injured in a South Shore shooting, Estrada said.

At 10:20 p.m. Thursday in the 7800 block of South Ridgeland Avenue, the man got into an argument with another man who then pulled out a gun, Estrada said. He was shot in his right hand and ankle and got himself to Jackson Park Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, Estrada said.

• A 20-year-old man was shot in Burnside Thursday night, Estrada said.

The man was on a front porch in the 9200 block of South Ellis Avenue at 9:55 p.m. when a dark car drove by and someone inside opened fire, Estrada said. He was struck in his back and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in "stable" condition, he said. Police could not detail the extent of his injuries.

• A 22-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were injured in an Austin shooting Thursday night, according to Estrada.

They were walking in a parking lot in the 5500 block of West Corcoran Place at 9:40 p.m. when someone opened fire, Estrada said.

The woman was shot in her left arm and was taken to Stroger Hospital in "stable" condition, Estrada said. The man was shot in his abdomen and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition. Police could not detail the extent of the victims' injuries.

•A 23-year-old man was injured in a Back of the Yards shooting Thursday afternoon, Estrada said. 

He was walking down the street in the 5300 block of South Morgan Street at 4:15 p.m. when someone in a light-colored car opened fire, Estrada said. The man was struck in his ankle and managed to get himself to St. Bernard Hospital and Healthcare Center, Estrada said.

Police could not give his condition but said he was "stable."

• A 23-year-old man was wounded in a Burnside shooting just after 4 p.m. Thursday.

• A 21-year-old and a 17-year-old were shot in Austin Thursday afternoon, police said.
