UPTOWN — Uptown has a new option for Ethiopian cuisine after Tesfa opened on Wilson Avenue over the weekend.

Tesfa, 1023 W. Wilson Ave., serves Ethiopian options for breakfast, lunch and dinner options ranging from $5-$15. It held its grand opening over the weekend, employees said.

In March, "opening soon" signs appeared on the former Lake Langano. According to the Chicago Reader, Lake Langano opened in 2012. It was set up primarily as a takeout spot with a few seats at the counter.

Tesfa will join local spots Osas African Restaurant and Uptown Pizza and B.B.Q. on the strip of Wilson Avenue between Kenmore Avenue and Sheridan Road.

The new restaurant has dine-in seating for about 10 people and will also cater parties. Along with menu options, the restaurant also has the following to-go options: spicy stew base, dried beef jerky, Ethiopian spices and teff flour.

The restaurant is open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It is closed on Sundays.
