HYDE PARK — The "Pinball Bandit" who allegedly robbed six Chicago banks has been caught after being given up by his girlfriend, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Nashun Langford, 25, of Chicago, allegedly robbed six banks, most recently the Hyde Park area Fifth Third Bank at 1420 E. 53rd St., on March 2, according to the FBI.

Langford — dubbed by the Feds as the "Pinball Bandit" because he “pinballed” between two banks during robberies on Jan. 19 — was arrested Friday after he told his girlfriend he was the robber, the FBI said late Friday. The girlfriend contacted police, who arrested him on Friday.

But federal and local authorities were already on Langford's trail prior to the girlfriend's tip, according to an affidavit released by the FBI.

For one, the six bank robberies were carried out by a similar-looking man, according to the affidavit. All of the robberies occurred between 4:38 p.m. and 5:51 p.m., according to the FBI.

A demand note that threatened violence was used in four of the robberies, the FBI said.

On Feb. 15, a person who knew Langford allegedly recognized him in surveillance footage released from the robberies. That person contacted the FBI, the affidavit states. A bank employee then picked Langford out of a lineup, the FBI said.

Langford was scheduled to make his first court appearance Friday.

Langford also was charged with robbing:

• MB Financial Bank, 5918 N. Broadway on Jan. 19

• Chase Bank, 1130 W. Taylor St., on Jan. 19

• Chase Bank, 1959 W. Division St., on Jan. 25

• Chase Bank, 1204 E. 53rd St., on Feb. 2 (robbed twice)
