CHICAGO — Fourteen people were shot, three fatally, across the city between Wednesday morning and Thursday morning, police said.

A man turned himself in after the murder of a 45-year-old man in an apartment high-rise in River West Wednesday evening, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

A man killed inside a business was one of three people shot in Humboldt Park between Wednesday and Thursday, Pacheco said.

A 22-year-old man was shot to death on a commercial strip in Austin Wednesday, Pacheco said.

A 26-year-old man was in critical condition after he was shot in his back while driving on the Far South Side Wednesday night, Pacheco said.

Two men and a woman were wounded between two shootings in Englewood Wednesday, Pacheco said.

• Around 2:10 a.m. Thursday morning, a 21-year-old man was shot in his right arm and his torso in the 5400 block of West Fullerton Avenue in Belmont Cragin, Pacheco said.

The man was brought to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he was in critical condition, Pacheco said.

Police could not immediately provide any other information on the shooting.

• At 9:50 p.m., a 19-year-old woman was getting out of her car in the 11000 block of South Normal Avenue in Roseland when someone across the street fired shots in her direction, Pacheco said.

The woman was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where her condition stabilized after she was treated for a gunshot wound in her back, Pacheco said.

• At 12:37 p.m. Wednesday, a 21-year-old man was driving in the 9400 block of South Stony Island Avenue in Calumet Heights when someone got out of a nearby car and shot at him, Pacheco said.

The man drove to the 1600 block of East 95th Street and flagged down police, Pacheco said, who called an ambulance to take him to Advocate Christ Medical Center.

The man's condition stabilized after he was treated for gunshot wounds in his back and buttocks, Pacheco said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• At 10:48 a.m., a 30-year-old man walked into West Suburban Hospital with a gunshot wound in his left thigh, Pacheco said. The man said he was driving in the 4700 block of West Harrison Street in West Garfield Park when he heard gunshots and felt pain.

The man was listed in good condition, Pacheco said.

• Less than 10 minutes earlier, Pacheco said, another man was shot less than a half-mile away, in the 4300 block of West Van Buren Street.

The man walked into Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition after being treated for a gunshot wound in his hand, Pacheco said.

Police said they do not believe the two shootings were related.
