AUSTIN — A 22-year-old man was shot to death Wednesday on a commercial strip in Austin, police said.
Around 1:55 p.m., the man was standing in the 300 block of North Central Avenue when someone walked up and shot at him, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man ran away, then collapsed, Pacheco added.
Natyia K. Bowen, of the 9100 block of South Yates, was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:10 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
No one is in custody, Pacheco said.
