CHICAGO — Three people were killed and at least eight others were wounded in gun violence since Friday afternoon, according to police.

The three fatal shootings were either gang or drug-related, police said.

A 31-year-old man was shot and killed in West Garfield Park early Saturday. A 19-year-old man was shot to death in West Englewood Saturday morning, and a 20-year-old man was fatally shot while outside in Austin Friday evening, according to police.

In non-fatal shootings:

• Most recently, a 44-year-old man was injured in an Englewood shooting early Saturday morning at 5:05 a.m., said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

He was in the 6400 block of South King Drive when he was shot in the leg, said Estrada, citing preliminary information. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in "stable" condition, he said. Police did not say the extent of his injuries.

• At 11:56 p.m. Friday in West Garfield Park, a 24-year-old woman was a passenger in a car in the 4300 block of West Wilcox Street when someone in another passing car opened fire, Estrada said.

She was struck in her left wrist and was driven by a friend to Rush Hospital where she was listed in good condition, Estrada said.

• A 26-year-old man was wounded in a West Englewood shooting late Friday, Estrada said.

The man was walking in the 2100 block of West 71st Street at 11:30 p.m. when someone in a silver SUV opened fire, Estrada said. He was struck in his right foot and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, Estrada said.

• About 20 minutes before that shooting, a 20-year-old man was shot in Englewood, Estrada said.

The man was walking in the 800 block of West 61st Street at 11:10 p.m. when a gray van pulled up and someone inside opened fire, Estrada said. He was struck in the right leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in good condition, Estrada said.

• A 27-year-old woman, a 28-year-old man and a 30-year-old man were shot in East Garfield Park late Friday, Estrada said.

The two men were in a car when an attacker walked up and opened fire, Estrada said. The 27-year-old man was struck in his foot and the 28-year-old man was struck in his leg, Estrada said.

A bullet also struck a 27-year-old woman, who police do not believe to be the intended target of the shooting, Estrada said. She was shot in her foot, he said.

All three people were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were treated and released, Estrada said. The two men are documented gang members, police said.

• A 20-year-old man was shot in West Garfield Park Friday afternoon, Estrada said.

The man was in an alley in the 300 block of North Hamilton Boulevard at noon when shots rang out, Estrada said. He was struck in his right thigh and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was treated and released, Estrada said.

No arrests have been made in any of the cases, Estrada said.
