LINCOLN PARK — A late-night sushi spot is taking over the space formerly occupied by Costello's Sandwiches.

Suwit Thong, owner of Sublime Sushi, said he is aiming to open his Japanese restaurant at 2235 N. Lincoln Ave. by the end of the week. It's the second location for Thong, who runs another restaurant in Bucktown, 2009 N. Damen Ave.

Thong said to expect the same menu and BYOB concept as the Bucktown location, which means sushi, sashimi and Japanese-style sandwiches like a teriyaki chicken sub. He also plans to incorporate ramen on the menu.

Though the new location's hours have yet to be finalized, Thong said one thing is for certain: It will stay open until 2 a.m. on the weekends.

Signs highlighting the late-night hours and BYOB concept were up Friday.

The news comes on the same day that Costello's owners announced they would be shuttering two locations in Roscoe Village and Lincoln Square.

The Lincoln Park Costello's closed in 2013.
