LINCOLN SQUARE — Costello's Sandwiches and Sides is closing its Lincoln Avenue shop on Sunday.

The company made the announcement Thursday via Facebook:

After 16 years in business here at Lincoln Square we are sad to say that we will be closing our doors for good this Sunday. Thank you to everyone that supported us throughout this time. It was a pleasure serving you.

Rob Procell, co-owner of the shop at 4647 N. Lincoln Ave., was unavailable for comment.

Costello's closed its restaurants in Wrigleyville and Lincoln Park in 2014.

The original Costello's at 2015 W. Roscoe St. in Roscoe Village remains open.

Costello's was founded in 1998 by siblings Lisa and Christopher Costello.

Tri-Star Catering, run by Procell and his business partner Glenn Tisdall, purchased the sandwich shops in late 2009.
