Winter Misery Index: Patio Cocktails Seem So Far Away (Or Are They?)

By DNAinfo Staff | January 27, 2016 9:23am

CHICAGO — It's still January. It's still gray. It's cold, but it could be worse. It could always be worse. That's what we will keep telling ourselves as our Vitamin D reserves continue to deplete and we find ourselves eating more feelings than usual.

Jan. 27, 2016 Rating: Slightly Miserable (4)

Why a 4? Because "slightly miserable" is the perfect way to describe a blah January day that is going to be like the next 60 or so blah days.

More reasons for misery: The Blackhawks got crushed last night and even though this winter has been mild it's still going to be months until we can sip margaritas on a patio.

Why things aren't the worst: The sun will allegedly come out Friday and Saturday and this weekend it will be NEARLY 50 DEGREES. IN JANUARY. Meet you for margs at Big Star?

What's the Misery Index? Here's a handy explainer.
