Man Shot During Attempted Robbery in Little Village, Police Say

CHICAGO — A man was shot during an attempted robbery in Little Village early Saturday, police said.

At 5:30 a.m., a man in his 40s was in the 3100 block of South Pulaski when someone with a gun walked up to him, attempted to rob him, shot him and ran away, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with a wound in his lower back. He was in "stable" condition, Sedevic said. Police could not say the extent of his injuries.

No one is in custody for this shooting.
