WEST LOOP — The Randolph/Fulton Market Association will once again bring together the neighborhood's meatpackers and chefs at the Taste of Fulton Market Wednesday afternoon.

The fundraiser, from 2-5 p.m. at Morgan Manufacturing, 401 N. Morgan St. in the West Loop, will feature a chef's challenge as chefs from The Brass Monkey, Eat Purely and Wishbone Restaurant compete to produce the best dishes using cuts of meat, pork, poultry and seafood donated by local food processors and wholesalers.

Tickets, on sale for $75, include an open buffet, open bar, live jazz by Chicago Soul-Centric and business networking. The public is invited to attend.

Roger Romanelli said the 13th annual event showcases Chicago as the world's food capital.

"By fusing longtime meat packers and produce houses with renown local chefs — with all of these businesses thriving amid burgeoning high-tech offices — the Taste shows how Fulton Market is bursting with businesses, jobs and new economic growth for Chicago," Romanelli said.

Four Star Foods, Variety Meat, Peoria Packing and Nealey Foods donated food for the event and side dishes will be prepared by D’Absolute Catering. Beverages will be provided by Goose Island Brewery, Lakeshore Beverage, City Winery, Starbucks and Harvest Juicery.

To RSVP, call the Randolph/Fulton Market Association at 312-243-0822.
