WEST LOOP — A developer plans to build 24 high-end luxury condos on Washington Boulevard in the West Loop.

River North-based Taris Real Estate plans to build a 10-story, 130-foot building at 900 W. Washington Blvd. The site, a block from Parlor Pizza Bar and other Fulton Market hot spots, currently houses a one-story office building.

The condo plan calls for a mix of two-, four- and five-bedroom units, according to Patrick Buck, managing director of Taris Real Estate. Under the plan, 23 parking spaces would also be developed on site, according to sources familiar with the proposal.

The "very high-end luxury" units would be priced at more than $500 per square foot, Buck said Monday.

The 900 W. Washington property is currently zoned DX-3 and the developer seeks a DX-7 zoning designation.

The developer has met with the West Central Association and will soon meet with the West Loop Community Organization and Neighbors of the West Loop.

Taris Real Estate owns the site, Buck confirmed. If neighborhood groups and Ald. Walter Burnett Jr. (27th) approve the project, construction could begin in spring 2016, he said.
