BRIDGEPORT — Chicago Fire Market, a fresh, organic and gluten-free restaurant opened in Bridgeport recently.

The family owned restaurant at 623 W. 31st St., touts a more health-conscious food option in the Bridgeport food scene.

"The idea behind our menu is that all of our food options are completely gluten-free," said Sam Rayes, who owns the restaurant with her husband, Hani.

"You are seeing a lot of restaurants introducing gluten-free dishes, but our menu is 100 percent, completely gluten-free," Rayes said. "We love the neighborhood, and we love all of the restaurants here but we wanted to offer a healthier food option."

In the style of Chipotle, guests can pick their protein (salmon, chicken, ribeye steak) served on a bed of rice or pasta and accompanied by a salad. A vegetarian food option is also on the menu.

"We are very careful selecting our products, and making sure all of our ingredients are organic and fresh," said Hani Rayes. "One thing that we want people to take away is that our food is not fast food, everything is made to order."

Chicago Fire Market is open noon-8 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, and 1-8 p.m. Saturdays.
