CHICAGO — A 20-year-old shot in Lawndale Sunday night was one of ten people shot — one fatally — over the first weekend of the new year.

Around 10:50 p.m., the 20-year-old man was shot in the 1300 block of South Kolin Avenue after an argument with another man, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition after being shot in his head, Gaines said.

No one is in custody for the shooting.

Sunday afternoon, two 19-year-old men were shot during a possible drive-by shooting in Back of the Yards.

Overnight Saturday, three people were wounded in shootings on the South and West Sides.

From Friday night into Saturday, four people were shot. One of those men succombed to his injuries Saturday becoming the first homicide of 2015 in Chicago.
