CHICAGO — At least 14 people were injured and two people were killed by gunfire across the city, including four separate incidents in Lawndale on the West Side, since Friday afternoon.

On Friday around 7 p.m., a man was in a car with a female child in Humboldt Park when he was shot and killed.

Earlier around 5 p.m., a 26-year-old man was fatally shot in Roseland.

• Most recently, around 6:35 a.m. Saturday, someone shot a 35-year-old man in the 400 block of East 87th Place in Burnside, striking him in the left ankle, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

He is in good condition, Lemmon said, adding that police do not know which hospital he was taken to.

• At 1:25 a.m., two people were shot in East Garfield Park.

A 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were in the 500 block of North Springfield Avenue when they heard shots and felt pain, Lemmon said.

The 20-year-old fled, and police discovered him at Chicago Avenue and Pulaski Road with gunshot wounds in his chest and arm. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, Lemmon said.

The boy was also taken to Stroger where he is listed in good condition having sustained a gunshot wound in his ankle, Lemmon said.

• At 1:16 a.m., two men, ages 24 and 29, were shot in Lawndale.

They were in a car in the 3000 block of West Flournoy Street when they heard shots and felt pain, Lemmon said.

The 24-year-old sustained a gunshot wound in his shoulder, while the 29-year-old suffered from a graze wound in the back of his neck, Lemmon said.

Both were treated and released from Loretto Hospital.

No one is in custody.

• Also in Lawndale, at 12:25 a.m., a man, 24, was outside in the 1800 block of South Kildare Avenue when a red sedan pulled up and he heard shots and realized he'd been struck in the back of his neck, Lemmon said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition, she added.

No one is in custody.

• Around 10:50 p.m. Friday, a man was shot during a robbery in Lawndale.

A man, 19, was walking in the 900 block of South Keeler Avenue when two men got out of a white car, announced a robbery and a struggle ensued, Lemmon said.

During the struggle, one of the men opened fire, striking the 19-year-old in his leg, Lemmon said.

The men fled the scene with the victim's cash and other items, Lemmon said.

The 19-year-old is in stable condition after being transported to Stroger Hospital.

• About 20 minutes earlier, two men were shot in Back of the Yards.

The men, ages 32 and 27, were outside in the 1700 block of West 47th Street when a red SUV pulled up and a man opened fire, striking the 32-year-old in his abdomen and the 27-year-old two times in his leg, Lemmon said.

Both of them were transported to Stroger Hospital where the 32-year-old is in "guarded" condition and the 27-year-old's condition had stabilized, Lemmon said.

Police said the victims are gang affiliated.

No one is in custody.

• About a half an hour earlier, two men were shot in Fuller Park on the South Side.

Around 10 p.m., the men, ages 20 and 27, were walking down the street in the 3900 block of South Wells Street when someone came up to them, which caused them to run. The shooter opened fire, striking the 20-year-old in his torso and the 27-year-old in his legs, Lemmon said.

The 20-year-old is in critical condition after being transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, while the 22-year-old's condition had stabilized at Stroger Hospital, she added.

• At about the same time a 21-year-old man was shot in Pilsen.

He was walking through in an alley in the 1800 block of South Blue Island Avenue when a Hispanic man came up to him and opened fire, striking him in his upper left arm and right wrist, Lemmon said.

A family member gave him a ride to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in good condition, Lemmon said.

Police said the victim is a documented gang member.
