CHICAGO— A teenage boy was shot in North Lawndale Friday afternoon, police said.

At 12:45 p.m., a 15-year-old boy and an acquaintance were standing outside in the 1100 block of South Francisco Avenue when a gray car pulled up, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

An unknown man stepped out of the car and opened fire, striking the 15-year-old boy in his leg. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and is listed in good condition, Lemmon said.

No one is in custody.
