LINCOLN PARK — Lincoln Park's breakfast, brunch and lunch spot Two Sparrows closed this week.

The restaurant, 553 W. Diversey, shut its doors after three years in business.

Owner/chef Greg Ellis, a Charlie Trotter's alumnus, opened the restaurant in 2011 with the idea of providing a sustainable menu with contemporary American fare.

Notable menu items included Ellis' homemade pop tarts.

The restaurant posted a note about the closing on its Facebook page: "After three wonderful years of providing Chicago with seasonal, farmer’s market-inspired breakfast, brunch and lunch fare, we are closing our doors. Chef Gregory Ellis and our team thank you for your ongoing support over the years."

A note on the restaurant's door thanked customers for their patronage.
