CHICAGO — Green Line riders should allow extra travel time both this weekend and next.

Thanks to construction of the new Cermak-McCormick Place station, trains will be suspended between Roosevelt and 35th-Bronzeville-IIT stations, according to a news release.

This weekend, service will be suspended between 1:40 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. Saturday.

There will be free bus shuttles provided between the affected stations as well as free transfers.

Shuttles will also be provided next weekend, weather permitting, when trains will be suspended from 2 a.m. Oct. 4 to 4 a.m. Oct. 6.

According to the CTA, the new Cermak station will fill a major gap in service once completed.

Service was suspended between the same stops earlier this month.
