CHICAGO — Green Line riders should expect delays over the weekend.

Construction to the new Cermak-McCormick Place station will temporarily suspend service between Roosevelt and 35th-Bronzeville-IIT stations, according to a news release.

Trains will not be running on Saturday and Sunday from 1:40 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the CTA said.

The CTA will provide riders with free shuttle service and transfers to affected stations but urged riders to build in extra travel time.

Once completed, the new Cermak-McCormick Place station will have enclosed platforms, elevators and bike racks and will help residents get around more easily, according the the release.
