CHICAGO — Police are questioning a man in connection with an attempted sexual assault on the Blue Line early Tuesday.

The attack happened about 12:18 a.m. in the 900 block of West Van Buren Street, according to a community alert.

A woman had been riding a Blue Line train that originated at the Lake Street transfer station.

When she got off the train, the man tried to sexually assault her, but she was able to fight him off and get away.

Police said the suspect was a black man in his late teens or early 20s. He's about 5-foot-5 or 5-foot-6 and weighs 160-170 pounds.

He has black hair and was wearing a black T-shirt with a white-and-red logo, dark pants and shoes, and a dark backpack.
