WEST LOOP — Native Foods, the vegan-oriented California restaurant chain, will open two additional cafes in Chicago by spring.
Native Foods' Hyde Park location, 1518 E. Harper Court, is set to open March 11, with a May opening set for the chain's West Loop spot at Presidential Towers, 14 S. Clinton St, a Native Foods spokeswoman confirmed.
Originally started in Palm Springs, the vegan and vegetarian-friendly restaurant chain already has three Chicago locations in the Loop, Lakeview and Wicker Park neighborhoods.
Self described as a "fast-casual vegan restaurant," Native Foods offers soy-based meat alternatives like tempeh and seitan.
Entrees and sandwiches average $8 and include items like the Twister Wrap (salad greens, fresh avocado, Native "Chicken"); Baja Blackened Tacos (corn tortillas, Native Tempeh, cabbage, guacamole); and Soul Bowl (Native "Chicken," red beans, brown rice, kale).
