LAKEVIEW — The neighborhood's getting another Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant, this time in the form of barbecue.
Suburban barbecue restaurant Q BBQ, which earned a spot on Michelin's coveted list of value restaurants for the first time last year, will be opening a spot in Lakeview in mid-December at 714 W. Diversey Parkway, at the site of the former Barrio Urban Taqueria.
The restaurant already has locations in La Grange and Naperville. It maintained its spot on the Bib Gourmand Chicago 2014 list, too, which was released last week.
Bib Gourmand restaurants are designated as "good cuisine at a reasonable price" mostly aimed at a city's residents versus tourists.
Q BBQ serves barbecue from regions across the country, from Texas brisket to Memphis chicken wings.
It joins four other Lakeview Bib Gourmand restaurants and a plethora of other barbecue restaurants in the neighborhood. In the past year, four other barbecue restaurants have opened up, including Milt's BBQ for the Perplexed, Old Crow Smokehouse and Sweet Baby Ray's.
