RIVER WEST — Foodies, start your engines: River West's newest eatery is now accepting reservations.
The Dawson, restaurateur Billy Lawless's cocktail-driven restaurant concept, was named one of Eater Chicago's most anticipated fall openings earlier this year.
Chef Rene De Leon came to The Dawson by way of Next, and unveiled a menu this week that includes wood-grilled ribeye, fish and burgers, a Mughlai curry with fried okra and fingerling potatoes, and an oyster po'boy of East Coast oysters dredged in Spanish masa.
Reservations opened Thursday via Open Table for tables on opening night Friday at the restaurant, located at 730 W. Grand Ave. on the corner of Halsted Street.
Lawless told Crain's Chicago Business that the restaurant may roll out weekend brunch menus in three to five weeks, with possible lunch options down the line as well.
Dinner is served from when the eatery opens at 4:30 p.m. each day until 11 p.m. The late night menu is available from 1 a.m. until the restaurant closes an hour later.
