LAKEVIEW — A new laundry service where people can drop-off and pick-up clothes 24/7 launched in Lakeview this week.
Pressbox, 2936 N. Lincoln Ave., offers both laundry and dry-cleaning services with a mobile tech twist. Instead of dropping off clothes to a person, dirty laundry is stuffed into a locker — and users then text Pressbox to let them know it's there.
Once the clothes are clean, Pressbox texts back, and users can pick them up at any time, according to its website.
People interested in the service can customize their cleaning profile with details like specific starches or detergents. A credit card number is also associated with the account for payment.
Eventually, Pressbox hopes to put lockers in retail stories, apartment buildings, offices and gyms around Chicago.
