LAKEVIEW — More than 150 artists will flood Broadway this weekend for the 13th annual Lakeview East Festival of the Arts, featuring painters, sculptors, photographers, ceramicists and glass artists.

The street festival kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday from Belmont Avenue to Hawthorne Place, with art booths open until 7 p.m. and live music, food and drink tents open until 10 p.m. The fest will also run from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.

The festival benefits the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce, and a $5 donation is suggested for entry.

Families can enjoy a children's area boasting puppet shows, magic and improv acts and the festival's garden oasis, while adults will have available wine, beer and live music on two stages.

More than 150 juried artists will participate in the festival, including Philadelphia artist Anastasia Alexandrin, who uses individual lines to make up intricately detailed portraits, and Chicago-based artist John Ames, who deconstructs photos in Photoshop and reassembles them into completely new, surreal pictures.

Those planning to drive to the festival will be able to pay for street parking or utilize the Century Garage and LAZ Parking Chicago facilities. More parking information can be found on the fair's website.
