LAKEVIEW — The Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce is bringing back its Giver's Gift promotion for the 21st year, offering the opportunity to pick up a $50 gift card to be used at a variety of local businesses.

Here's how it works: Between now and Dec. 21, shop in Lakeview East (see map, below) and save your receipts. Once you spend $300 at businesses in Lakeview East, bring your receipts and your ID in to the Chamber of Commerce before 2 p.m. Dec. 21 and receive a $50 gift card while supplies last (one gift card per household).

You must have at least three receipts, each more than $25 excluding tips, with a maximum purchase of $100 for groceries and/or liquor. Only local gift cards are accepted as a purchase; no contracts, prescriptions, CTA cards or monthly memberships are accepted.

The gift card will be accepted by 153 merchants — more than any before since the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce expanded last year to take over operations in central Lakeview from Chicago View, formerly the Central Lakeview Merchants Association.

DryHop Brewers, Foursided, Inkling, Kuma's Too, Reckless Records, Stella's Diner, Trader Todd's, Unabridged Bookstore and more will accept the $50 gift card. Click here for the full list of merchants.

The Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce is at 3138 N. Broadway and 3208 N. Sheffield Ave. More information on the Giver's Gift promotion can be found online.
