CHICAGO — Robbers targeted people in Lakeview four times in one week, police said.
The victims were walking outside when men walked up to them and robbed them while armed with a gun or implying they had one, according to a Chicago Police community alert.
The robberies occurred:
• 6 a.m. Jan. 21 in the 800 block of West Newport Avenue
• 1:15 a.m. Jan. 22 in the 3100 block of North Racine Avenue
• 7:20 p.m. Jan. 23 in the 3200 block of North Halsted Street
• 3:30 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of West Cornelia Avenue
The robbers were described as black men ages 18-25, 5-foot-5 to 6-foot tall and weighing 150-180 pounds, police said. They wore black or dark hooded sweatshirts, and two of them had red or white lettering on their sweatshirts.
