WRIGLEYVILLE — James Taylor is returning to Wrigley Field for a 2017 show along with special guest Bonnie Raitt.

Taylor's July 17 show is the first Wrigley Field concert announced for the 2017 season, and tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

Last year, Taylor's show was celebrated as his first stadium performance in Chicago and featured special guest Jackson Browne.

Taylor, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, will headline the one-night-only show.

Taylor has been singing, writing music and playing guitar for more than 40 years and has sold more than 100 million albums, earning gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards and multiple Grammy awards for his musicianship and his songwriting with seminal hits like 1970's "Sweet Baby James."

In 2015, he released his first new studio album in 13 years, "Before This World," and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

In 2000, both Taylor and Raitt were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Raitt is a 10-time Grammy winner who Rolling Stone named one of the 100 greatest singers and guitarists. Her 45-year career includes her breakout albums "Nick of Time" and "Luck of the Draw," which featured hits like "Something To Talk About."

The Cubs and Wrigley Field are 95 percent owned by an entity controlled by a trust established for the benefit of the family of Joe Ricketts, owner and CEO of DNAinfo.com. Joe Ricketts has no direct involvement in the management of the iconic team.
