DOWNTOWN — Maggie Daley Park's popular ice skating ribbon is set to open Nov. 25, a week after Christkindlmarket and Millennium Park's ice rink nearby.

Parks officials pushed back the opening at 337 E. Randolph St. due to warm weather:

The ribbon is now set to open not long after the seasonal debuts of Millennium Park's ice rink and the popular Christkindlmarket fair in Daley Plaza as Chicagoans get ready for the holidays. Parks officials originally eyed Nov. 18 for the ribbon opening but delayed it due to warm weather.

The ribbon — a winding ice path within Maggie Daley Park — has hosted thousands of skaters since it opened in late 2014.

Its opening also was delayed last year because of unseasonably warm weather in November.

Admission is free, with skate rentals costing $12 Mondays-Thursdays and $14 Fridays-Sundays. Last year the ribbon was open from noon-8 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, noon-10 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sundays. The ribbon also has special holiday hours:
