Christkindlmarket Sets Up In Daley Plaza (Is It Time For Mulled Wine Yet?)

By David Matthews | November 1, 2016 1:07pm

THE LOOP — Daley Plaza dressed up as Christkindlmarket for Halloween. And it's staying that way until Christmas Eve.

Setup is already underway for the German-themed pop-up fair that inhabits Daley Plaza, 50 W. Washington St., during the holidays:

This year's Christkindlmarket will debut Nov. 18 and run through Dec. 24. The fair is perhaps best known for wafting delicious cinnamon aromas throughout the Loop and serving mulled wine in cute boot-shaped mugs.

Christkindlmarket officials said they will announce Friday whether the popular collectible boot mugs will return to the fair this year.

The fair will open the same day as Millennium Park's ice rink. Once open the fair will run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
