UPTOWN — Neighbors heard about 8-10  gunshots near Truman College Sunday night.

The shots were fired around 8 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Wilson Avenue, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

No one was wounded in the incident and officers did not open fire, said Amezaga.

A man is being questioned, but no arrests have been made in the incident, she said.

The shooting comes on the heels of a shooting in the 4800 block of N. Winthrop Avenue that left five people wounded early Saturday.

Around 1:34 a.m. Saturday, a 36-year-old man was hit in his buttocks, a 20-year-old man was hit in his leg, a 17-year-old was hit in his back, a 20-year-old woman was hit in her legs and a 36-year-old man was hit in his arm, police said.

No one is in custody for that incident.

The neighborhood had three homicides and four people wounded in shootings in October leaving some residents on edge.

At a CAPS meeting last week, neighbors complained about quality-of-life issues such as "open air drug markets" near their homes and in front of Truman, 1145 W. Wilson Ave.
