9 People Wounded in Shootings Since Saturday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Nine people have been left injured in shootings since Saturday, police said.

• Most recently, at 6:10 a.m., a 32-year-old man was shot in Gage Park, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was walking down the street in the 5800 block of South Albany Avenue when someone in a red SUV fired shots at the man.

The man was hit in his right side and lower right leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.

• At 3:06 a.m., a 38-year-old man was shot in Little Village, Sedevic said. The man was walking in the 4300 block of West 27th Street when someone following him fired shots.

He was hit multiple times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Sedevic said.

• At 1:45 a.m., a person was shot while driving on the Eisenhower Expressway, said Sgt. Jason Bradley, a State Police spokesman.

• At 11:30 p.m. Saturday, a 32-year-old man was shot in Wicker Park, Sedevic said.

• At 11:10 p.m., a 33-year-old man was shot in North Lawndale, Sedevic said. The man was standing on the street in the 1600 block of South Kedzie Avenue when a man in a black sweater came out of an alley and fired shots at the man.

The victim was hit in his right arm and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition, Sedevic said.

The victim is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 10:30 p.m., a 37-year-old man was shot in Englewood, Sedevic said. The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 7200 block of South Peoria Street when someone came out of a gangway across the street and fired shots at him.

The man was hit in his left foot and taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was in good condition, Sedevic said.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 10:05 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in Garfield Park, Sedevic said. The man was in the 400 block of North Springfield Avenue when he was shot in his left foot. He was taken to Norwegian American Hospital in good condition.

The man has been uncooperative with investigators and provided conflicting accounts of the shooting, police said.

• At 4:20 p.m., a 16-year-old was shot in Austin, Sedevic said. The teen was in the 4800 block of West Monroe when he was shot in his right leg. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.

The teen is a documented gang member, police said, and he has been "extremely" uncooperative with investigators.

• At 8 a.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in North Lawndale, Sedevic said. The man was in the 1800 block of South Central Park Avenue when he was shot in his upper right thigh. The man walked into Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition.

No one was in custody in these shootings.

In all cases where victims as "stable," police did not provide information on the extent of their injuries.
