By Kelly Bauer | February 7, 2016 10:06am | Updated on February 8, 2016 8:48am

CHICAGO — A shooting on the Eisenhower Expressway left one person wounded on Sunday morning, police said.

At 1:45 a.m., the victim was in a car driving on the expressway near Racine Avenue when he was shot in the right leg, said Sgt. Jason Bradley, a State Police spokesman. The victim was taken to Rush University Medical Center.

Further information was not immediately available.

The victim was a 19-year-old man, according to the Tribune.

This is the first known expressway shooting in February, coming after five highway shootings in January, a spike from previous years when there were typically only one or two January highway shootings.
