CHICAGO — A car got stuck between a rock and a holy place in Wicker Park Saturday morning, so to speak.

Edward Varndell was walking by St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2209 W. North Ave., when he spotted a white car lodged between the church and a light pole. Varndell didn't witness the accident, but he said the church didn't appear to suffer a lot of damage

The car was still there as of 10:30 a.m., blocking the sidewalk, Varndell said.

That stretch of the sidewalk was often crowded on weekends as people waited outside the recently closed Birchwood Kitchen, 2211 W. North Ave.

Police did not immediately have information about the accident.
