CHICAGO — One man was killed and 12 people were wounded in weekend gun violence, police said.

The lone fatal shooting of the weekend occurred on Sunday, which also saw four people wounded in shootings and a man stabbed at a Green Line stop. That's a sharp decrease in violence from last weekend, when more than 50 people were wounded during one of the bloodiest weekends of the year.

At 8 p.m. Sunday, a man in his 40s was shot in his head in the 6800 block of South Loomis Boulevard in Englewood after a domestic altercation, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 8:40 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was standing in an alley with other men in the 4500 block of South Troy Street in Brighton Park when he heard shots and felt pain, Pacheco said. He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition with a wound in his abdomen.

The teen is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 8:37 p.m., a 26-year-old woman was getting out of a car in the 6400 block of South Hoyne Avenue in West Englewood when she heard shots and felt pain, Pacheco said. The woman was shot in her left foot and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in "stable" condition, Pacheco said.

• At 11:45 a.m., a 14-year-old girl was walking in the 6400 block of South Honore Street in West Englewood when a car pulled up and someone got out and shot at her, Pacheco said. The girl was shot in her elbow and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition.

The incident is possibly gang-related, police said.

• At 3:15 p.m., a 14-year-old boy was shot in his leg in the 3100 block of South Princeton Avenue in Bridgeport, Pacheco said. The wound appeared to be self-inflicted. The boy was in stable condition at Mercy Hospital.

No one is in custody for these shootings.

Two people were wounded in shootings in Auburn Gresham and Edgewater on Friday, and six people were wounded in shootings on Saturday.
