EDGEWATER — A 41-year-old man was shot while driving on Broadway Street in Edgewater early Saturday, police said. It was one of two shootings between Friday and Saturday mornings.

Around 3:05 a.m., the man was behind the wheel in the 5600 block of North Broadway when another car pulled up next to him and someone inside shot at him, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Weiss Hospital, Sedevic said, where his condition stabilized after he was treated for a gunshot wound in his leg. Police could not say the extent of his injuries.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

No one is in custody, Sedevic said.
