WRIGLEY FIELD — Toyota is joining a growing list of companies with their logos prominently displayed at Wrigley Field, the Chicago Cubs announced Friday.

The Japanese vehicle manufacturer will have its logo on the panel beneath the Wrigley Field marquee at Clark and Addison, the team said.

Toyota will also have in-game rotational signs behind home plate and on the left field video board, while continuing to sponsor in-game manager challenges and umpire reviews.

Beginning in 2016, the company will have field-level signs and naming rights to the team's parking lots, which are currently color-coded.

The ballpark and the marquee itself (which will not be altered) are historic landmarks, but the LED panel below the marquee has "a history of supporting team and corporate partner initiatives," the Cubs said.

Budweiser got its slogan on the panel in the early 1980s in conjunction with the LED installation (it's now moved on to the bleachers, where Budweiser Bleacher Fridays offer special promotions and giveaways).

In 2010, the marquee was painted purple for the Allstate Wrigleyville Classic college football game, hosted by Northwestern University. Allstate also got its logo in the coveted spot.

Toyota has supported the Cubs since the Ricketts family acquired the team in 2009 and will play "a vital role as we make progress on our long-term goals of winning a World Series, preserving Wrigley Field and being a good neighbor," said Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts.

It joins other Cubs legacy partners: Advocate Health Care, American Airlines, Anheuser-Busch, ATI Physical Therapy, Nuveen Investments, Sloan Valve Company, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Under Armour and Wintrust.

Last year, as the Cubs celebrated 100 years at Wrigley Field, the achievement was touted on the panel. It currently sports "#LetsGo." A ceremony is set for Monday.

The Cubs and Wrigley Field are 95 percent owned by a trust established for the benefit of the family of Joe Ricketts, owner and CEO of DNAinfo.com. Joe Ricketts has no direct involvement in the management of the iconic team.
