Chicago Ale Fest Eyes Return to Buckingham Fountain

BUCKINGHAM FOUNTAIN — The Chicago Ale Fest, which brought 100 craft brewers last month to Buckingham Fountain, aims to return next summer plus add a winter festival.

Promoter Josh Seago of Naperville-based Lou Dog Events said he's already scheduled to return in June 2016 after a "very successful" inaugural run Downtown.

He's also adding a similar winter festival in January, an event he calls the "first full-scale outdoor winter beer festival in Chicago."

The two-day Chicago Ale Fest arrived Downtown last month after two successful years in the suburbs. Last summer's Naperville Ale Fest — a one-day event — drew 4,800 visitors, Seago said.

The event featured beer from popular brewers including Begyle and Lagunitas, with admission running $50 and including 20 3-ounce samples. Guests could purchase 10 more samples for an additional $5.
