CHICAGO — A man died and eight other people, including a 12-year-old boy riding his scooter, were hurt from gun violence Saturday evening through Sunday morning, police said.

A 22-year-old man is in stable condition after being shot in his back and left arm in Albany Park Saturday evening, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

• Most recently, at about 3 a.m. Sunday morning, a man and a woman were seriously hurt after being shot in Washington Heights, police said.

A 30-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were standing in an alley on the 9000 block of South Ashland Avenue when someone walked up and shot at them, Pacheco said.

Both victims were brought to Christ Memorial Hospital. The woman was in stable condition after being shot in the right side of her chest, Pacheco said, and the man was in serious condition with gunshot wounds in his buttocks and face.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Pacheco said.

• Around 2:20 a.m. Sunday morning, a 22-year-old woman was shot in North Lawndale during an argument with her ex-boyfriend, Pacheco said.

The two were arguing on the sidewalk on the 1800 block of South Central Park Avenue when the man, 37, pulled out a gun and shot the woman in her abdomen, Pacheco said.

The woman was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she's listed in serious condition, Pacheco said.

The man is in police custody, Pacheco said, and charges against him are pending.

• At about 1:15 a.m. two men were shot while sitting in a van in Roseland, Pacheco said.

The men, 23 and 21, were stopped at a stop sign on the 0-100 block of West 110th Place when someone walked up to the van and fired shots at it, Pacheco said. The 23-year-old was shot in his shoulder and left hand, Pacheco said, and the 21-year-old was shot in his abdomen.

The men drove themselves to Roseland Hospital, Pacheco said, where they're both in stable condition.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Pacheco said.

• About 15 minutes earlier, a man was shot in his arm and back while walking in East Garfield Park, police said. The man, 20, was walking on the 3800 block of West Gladys Avenue when an SUV pulled up and someone inside fired shots, Pacheco said, before fleeing westbound on Gladys.

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he's in stable condition, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Pacheco said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
