CHICAGO — It's almost JULY. We don't know how this happened (oh yeah we were rained out for an entire month), but now it's time to make summer count.

Step one: ditch the office. Step two: get outside.

1. Turn off Cell Phone, Carve Out an Om-Hour: Led by a rotating group of instructors from area yoga studios, Wicker Park’s namesake park offers a free outdoor yoga class sponsored by Lululemon in partnership with the park's advisory council and Chicago Park District. Bring a mat or towel and water bottle.  6:30 to 7:30 p.m., located at 1425 N. Damen Ave. on the south side of the park near the Schiller Street Entrance.

2. Have Nacho Dinner on the Beach: One of Edgewater’s most well-known, yet best-kept secrets, Nacho Mama’s Beach Bar sits in the Kathy Osterman Beach House and slings tacos, margaritas and of course, nachos, while you soak up the sun. Sit on their patio, or grab a soda and head out to the waves. Between Kathy Osterman and Hollywood Ave. beaches, menu items start at $6, open 12 p.m.-9 a.m. daily.

3. Catch a Kid-Friendly Movie in Bartelme Park: A reimagining of Disney’s 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty, “Maleficent” instead portrays the story from the fallen fairy’s perspective,  a part played by actress Angelina Jolie. About 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mary Bartelme Park, 115 S. Sangamon St.

4. Cheer on Team U.S.A in Lincoln Park: Soccer fans and non-soccer fans alike, it’s nearly the 4th of July and our Women’s World Cup team is on the verge of taking home the title. Head to the south end of Lincoln Park for the official U.S. Women’s World Cup viewing party. Festivities kick off at 3 p.m. with fan activities. The game starts at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast live on a jumbo high-definition t.v. Beer will be available for purchase.

5. Meet A Friend For a Frappe: Cool off with a frappe or real fruit smoothie at Kusanya Cafe. The Englewood cafe has indoor and outdoor seating. Kusanya Cafe, 825 W. 69th St. open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
