CHICAGO — One man is dead and at least nine other people were wounded in shootings since Thursday night, police said.

In Englewood, a 28-year-old man was shot in his armpit and thigh and later pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital.

Most recently, a 37-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting in West Englewood at 12:27 a.m. The man was sitting in the driver seat of a parked car in the 2000 block of West 68th Place when someone in a passing car fired shots, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

He was shot in his left thigh and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where his condition had stabilized, Cooper said.

• Minutes earlier in Woodlawn at 12:25 a.m., a 36-year-old woman was standing outside in the 6500 block of South Minerva Avenue when she heard shots and felt pain. The woman was shot in her buttocks and taken Jackson Park Hospital where her condition had stabilized, Cooper said.

• At 10:58 p.m. in South Chicago, a 19-year-old man was standing in front of his residence in the 8500 block of South Escanaba Avenue when someone in a passing light-colored sedan fired shots, Cooper said.

The man was shot in his right hand and left thigh and drove himself to Advocate Trinity Hospital. He was later transferred to Christ Hospital where his condition had stabilized, Cooper said.

• In Roseland at 10:54 p.m., a 26-year-old man walked into Roseland Community Hospital with a gunshot wound in his hip. He told investigators he was shot in the 11200 block of South Wentworth Avenue, Cooper said.

• At 8:38 p.m. in Washington Park, a 25-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 5100 block of South Prairie Avenue, when a sedan drove by and someone inside fired shots. He was shot in his left thigh and taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition had stabilized, Cooper said.

• In West Englewood around 8 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was fighting with three men in the 2100 block of West Marquette Road. When the boy tried to run away, he heard shots and felt pain, Cooper said.

The boy suffered a graze wound on his hip and was taken to Rush Medical Center by a family member. The teen was listed in good condition, Cooper said.

• Around 7:25 p.m., a 28-year-old man was shot in his leg in the 2900 block of West 40th Street in Brighton Park and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Cooper said.

• In Auburn Gresham at 6:27 p.m. a 20-year-old man was shot in his lower leg in the 900 block of West 84th Street. He was taken to Christ Hospital where his condition had stabilized, Cooper said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• In West Englewood at 5:45 p.m., a 26 year-old man was driving in the 1600 block of West 71st Street when he heard shots and felt pain. He was shot in his right leg, and drove himself to Holy Cross Hospital where his condition had stabilized, Cooper said.
