CHICAGO—After a busy night of gunfire across the city Friday night and into Saturday, three additional people have been shot during a warm weekend morning, according to police.

The most recent incident happened around 10 a.m. in the 6700 block of South Union Avenue in Englewood, when a 23-year-old man was shot in his left leg, said officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

Family members of the victim took him to Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, where he was listed in good condition, she said.

As of 2:30 p.m. Saturday, police were questioning two suspects in the incident, but had not made any arrests and continue to investigate, she said.

Hours earlier, two 19-year-old men were shot around 4:15 a.m. near the intersection of 53rd Street and Winchester Avenue in Englewood, Lemmon said.

According to police, the two men were sitting in a parked vehicle when the shooter approached them on a bike. Before firing, the shooter asked what gang the teens belonged to, and then shot at both the victims.

The driver of the vehicle was shot in the left leg and hip, and the passenger was hit by gunfire in his chest and both arms, Lemmon said. The teens then drove themselves to a gas station in the 1200 block of West Garfield Avenue, where they called for police.

Both of the victims were taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Lemmon said.

No one is currently in custody.
