Schubas, Lincoln Hall Sold -- But Things Will Stay The Same: Report

By DNAinfo Staff | April 23, 2015 4:00pm | Updated on April 24, 2015 8:29am

CHICAGO — Beloved Chicago music venues Schubas and Lincoln Hall have been sold, the Chicago Tribune reported Thursday.

Chris and Mike Schuba have run Lakeview's Schubas since 1988. The brothers opened Lincoln Hall in 2009 hoping to create "a human-scale intimate experience where we can put music first." Rolling Stone named it one of the country's best music venues in 2013.

The Tribune's Greg Kot reports that Bucktown-based company Audiotree and Michigan-based Greenleaf have teamed up to purchase the venues, which will keep their names. Chris Schuba is "walking away" from the music promotion business (and has joined the Tribune's advertising department, according to Kot), but Mike Schuba will stay on as chief operating officer of the clubs.

“There’s a new owner, but the operation will be the same,” Mike Schuba told Kot.
