Ray Suarez, Milly Santiago Head to Runoff in 31st Ward Election

BELMONT CRAGIN — Incumbent Ald. Ray Suarez (31st) and challenger Milly Santiago will face off in a runoff election April 7 after neither secured a majority vote in Tuesday's race.

Suarez, who has held the aldermanic seat in the 31st Ward since 1991, received 48 percent of the vote, tailed by Santiago with 37 percent.

The 31st Ward includes Hermosa, Belmont Cragin and Logan Square.
