LAKEVIEW — A man, who appeared to be in his 40s, robbed a Lakeview bank Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

About 1:50 p.m., a man wearing a black shirt, black bandana and black sunglasses walked into the Fifth Third Bank at 640 W. Diversey Pkwy., said Joan Hyde, an FBI spokeswoman.

Officers from the 19th District took a suspect into custody Tuesday afternoon, said Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman.

The man did not display a weapon but demanded cash and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. The man was described as white and stood about 6 feet, 1 inch, Hyde said.

The same bank was robbed on Aug. 5 by a man who matched a similar description. FBI officials did not immediately say Tuesday if they believe the two robberies were committed by the same man.
