CHICAGO — At least 10 people were wounded and one man was killed by gunfire on the South and West Sides of the city since Friday evening.

The fatal shooting occurred in Back of the Yards around 10:45 p.m. Friday.

• Most recently, at 5:07 a.m. Saturday, a 28-year-old man was outside in 2600 block of West 65th Street in Marquette Park when someone got out of a car and fired multiple shots, striking him in the back, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

The man fled the scene and collapsed in the 6500 block of South Washtenaw Avenue, where he was discovered by police, Estrada said.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he is in stable condition.

• Around 2:45 a.m., a woman was critically wounded after a shooting in South Chicago.

The woman, 47, was sitting in a car in the 8100 block of South Muskegon Avenue when she heard shots and felt pain, Estrada said.

She "didn't see who shot her, or where the shots came from," Estrada added.

She suffered a gunshot wound in her side, and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

No one is in custody.

• About an hour earlier, a man was also shot in Brighton Park while also sitting in a car.

The 32-year-old man was in a car in the 4400 block of South Archer Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain, Estrada said.

He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital with gunshot wounds in his arm. He is now in stable condition, Estrada said.

The shooting may have been gang-related, police said. The victim "had no idea why anyone would want to shoot him," Estrada said.

• About 12:30 a.m., a man was critically hurt after being shot in Morgan Park.

Someone shot the man, 34, in the 10900 block of South Racine Avenue, police said. He was "extremely uncooperative" with police, so officers could not determine how he was shot, Estrada said.

He is a documented gang member, according to police.

No one is in custody.

• Earlier, around 9 p.m. Friday, a man, 26, was walking and "minding his own business" in the 10000 block of South Avenue M when someone in a red SUV pulled up and displayed gang signs and shouted gang slogans, Estrada said.

Then, the shooter got out of the car and fired multiple shots at the 26-year-old, striking him in his back, Estrada said.

He is in stable condition after taking himself to Trinity Hospital.

The shooting is believed to be gang related, according to police.

• Around the same time a man was shot in West Garfield Park.

The man, 32, was outside in the 4600 block of West Van Buren Street when someone walked up and fired multiple shots in his direction, striking him in his finger, Estrada said.

He took himself to Loretto Hospital where he is in good condition, Estrada said.

No one is in custody.

• Around 8:15 p.m., two men were left wounded after a shooting in Pilsen.

• A 23-year-old man was shot in Calumet Heights around 7:05 p.m.

He was sitting on a front porch in the 9100 block of South Yates Boulevard when a man from within a passing black SUV opened fire, striking him in his foot, Estrada said.

He was taken to Trinity Hospital in stable condition.

No one is in custody.

• Around the same a 28-year-old man was shot in South Deering, police said.

Initially, the man told police that he was standing on the corner of the 2400 block of E. 101st Street when he felt pain and realized he had been shot in his buttocks, Estrada said.

But later he told police he was sitting on the front porch of a residence when someone shot him, Estrada said.

He is in stable condition after being transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center.
