LAKEVIEW — Town Hall police are urging residents to be careful after a man tried to lure a girl into his taxi on Saturday.
The girl was walking near Hermitage and Diversey when a man in a white four-door taxi pulled up about 5 p.m., police said. The man tried to talk to the girl, whose age wasn't released, but she ran away.
Police described the driver as a clean-shaven black man with short black hair and a dark complexion. He was between 25 and 35 years old, and wearing a gray shirt.
The taxi was white with black rims.
Police asked anyone with information to call detectives at 312-744-8261.
