CHICAGO — A man, believed to be in his 40s, was struck by a car in Logan Square early Sunday, authorities said.

The accident happened in the 2600 block of North Western Avenue around 1 a.m., police said. The vehicle fled the scene.

Details surrounding the incident were not immediately available, but the Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating, police said.

Police said the man is in critical condition after being taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital.
