Police: Six Armed Robberies Reported Since July 21 on North Side

CHICAGO — Thieves stole wallets, money and phones at gunpoint in six recent robberies in the North Side's Town Hall District, according to police.

The thieves approached their victims on the street and in alleys, police said.

The robberies occurred at:

- 1:05 a.m. July 21 on the 1500 block of West Altgeld Street

- 1:15 a.m. July 21 on the 1500 block of West George Street

- 11 p.m. July 27 on the 1300 block of West Grace Street

- 4:08 a.m. July 30 on the 1200 block of West Belmont Avenue

- 10:30 p.m. July 30 on the 4700 block of North Hermitage Avenue

- 11:35 p.m. July 30 on the 1400 block of West Roscoe Street

The thieves used a variety of cars during the robberies: a two-door Toyota, a beige sedan and a black Chevrolet, police said.

The robbers were described as black men, age 18 to 35. In two of the robberies, one of them was described as having a shaved or bald head.
