The fundraiser for the late Chicago Fire Department paramedic has already exceeded its $15,000 goal.

Robert Spoon, 28, died after the fire at 11417 S. St. Louis Ave., according to the Fire Department.

Renovation of the station's platforms had just begun earlier this month.

Michael Murphy, 56, of Beverly died Sunday after attending the event at Mount Carmel High School.
